At least 29,295 posts filled through large scale recruitment in J&K: MoS Home


 Srinagar, Aug 02: Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai on Wednesday informed the Rajya Sabha after the formation of the UT, a large-scale recruitment drive has been carried out and the Government of J&K has filled 29,295 vacancies.

"Recruiting agencies have advertised 7,924 vacancies and examinations in respect of 2,504 vacancies have been conducted," he said in a written reply to a question, as per news. 

"Employment generation has been given a priority during these years. Unemployment Rate (Usual Principal Status) in J&K declined to 5.2 per cent," the Union Ministry said adding that 82,015 units have been established under different self employment schemes, as a result of which 2.85 lakh young men and women have been provided employment.

"Out of 95,324 SHGs formed, 59,697 are women SHGs. More than 60 lakh participation was witnessed in different sports activities in the year 2022-23 compared to less than two lakhs during 2018-19. More than 5 lakh youth are associated with Mission Youth. Mission Youth initiative was awarded the PM Award for Innovation recently," he added.
"Youth Volunteer Program’ has been launched across all the districts. Under the initiative, more than 5,180 youth clubs are constituted with more than 1 lakh active youth members. These youth clubs are primarily aimed to provide a vibrant platform to youth to participate in the expedition of New Kashmir. 

Mission Youth envisions covering more than 3 lakh youth under employment generation, education & counseling, University collaboration and skilling Initiatives," the Union Minister added.
