Over 22,000 candidates scored 100 percentile with maximum marks scored in English, PTI reported.

However, in its announcement, the National Testing Agency said its role is only limited to conducting test, the merit list will ultimately be prepared by the universities.

Following the declaration of CUET-UG results, the undergraduate admission process at over 200 universities across the country shall begin shortly.

Performance of every candidate has been evaluated using equi-percentile method, marks normalised,” it said.

More than 14 lakh applications were received for the CUET-UG this year, registering a 41 per cent increase from its first edition last year.

The CUET-UG is the second-largest entrance exam in the country in terms of the number of applicants. Even in terms of prominence, this test is at a top level as it extends a number of choices to the students to choose the test papers.

In its first edition, 12.5 lakh students had registered for the exam and 9.9 lakh submitted their applications. Unlike last year, the exam was conducted in three shifts this year.
The test was conducted in 295 cities in India in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and 17 cities abroad.
